Your de»fine Membership - Etiquette

If you are new to Lifestyle Enhancement, or have worked out in a club that didn’t establish guidelines to help keep the members safe, we have a few suggestions in this section that will keep the club and fitness circuit moving and safe for all members. We have also included a separate section later in this guide for club rules.

  • Always carry a workout towel and clean up after yourself on each piece of equipment you use. We furnish spray cleaner throughout the club and we suggest you use it after using any piece of equipment your body comes in contact with, such as a bench or anywhere you might sweat, such as a cardio piece.

  • Allow others to work in between sets. If you are on the circuit and someone is moving through the designed Urban Recess circuit at a faster pace than you, please allow them to “play through.” If you are using a piece of equipment for multiple sets, please allow other members to share with you while you are resting.

  • Clean outfits please. Wearing that favorite tee shirt that has aged in the truck of your car since your last workout is not acceptable to the other members. Also, outfits that are considered too revealing or distracting to other members will not be acceptable and the staff reserves the right to discern what is appropriate at any given time to provide a fair and enjoyable experience for the rest of the membership.

  • Be safe at all times. “Anchor down” on the Power Towers® before getting on the glideboard (this will be taught in your Gravity orientation), be aware of where other members are working out, replace all weights/equipment after each use and do not do any exercises or movements that may endanger your self or other members.

  • Watch your language. Questionable language offends many of our members and will not be tolerated.

  • Keep your personal things off the workout floors. Gym bags and other personal workout aides are not allowed on the floor due to the hazard they offer for other members. This is why we have established ample day use lockers and cubbies throughout the club.

  • Please help keep the restrooms and locker rooms safe and clean by cleaning up after yourself. Wipe the counters, flush the toilets, use the urinals and please shut your lockers after each use.

  • Strong perfumes and colognes are not recommended, nor is excessive body odor.

  • We ask that all members are left to enjoy their privacy and peace and that no one solicits or bothers other members when they are in the facility.

  • LASTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY!

  • The energy and experience of all members, including you, is of paramount importance to us in our mission to be “The best part of your day, EVERYDAY!” Therefore, it is required that an understanding of the sacred nature and positive force that we generate and maintain as a collective is honored above all else on a daily basis. It is not possible for anybody to go through a day without “stuff” happening, and we are not immune to that as a staff either, but our commitment is to something bigger than ourselves and our physical circumstance in a moment. We are committed to the ever-abundant potential that resides in the Spirit of each and everyone one of us, and in you! Therefore, if you notice a fellow member or staff member falling prey to the paradigm or negative influence of the outside world, we ask that you be a positive “stand” for the preservation of our total membership by letting our General Manager know, so that we can assist in redirecting or eliminating that issue from the environment. Please respect one another’s privacy and allow us to handle it with trust and care, and remember that define is the “one” place where you can and must be willing to leave your problems at the door, and plug into the source by which gratitude and opportunity rule the day!
